Plans are underway to construct a new Buddhist temple at the 200-block of Park Avenue in the Northeast's Pendleton Heights neighborhood. The proposed Quan Am Temple will cater to Kansas City's Vietnamese community, many of whom worshiped at the Pho Hein Temple at 16th and White. The proposed move has caused a split between some members of the Vietnamese Buddhist community.
