Missouri Valley Special Collections staff have been hard at work adding new content to KCHistory. Below, you will find a list of newly digitized objects added to the site during the month of September.

47 menus and illustrations related to Kansas City area restaurants and hotels from the S. Stephen Lispi Collection were scanned and added to the site. Lispi was a Kansas City commercial artist active in the mid-20th century. The collection contains illustrations, lettering, cartoons, logo designs, layout sketches, print advertisements, original artwork, and these newly digitized menus.

Three images related to Tivoli Garden, an 1870s German biergarden once located on the current Crown Center site, were also added: an illustration of the Tivoli Garden grounds, a portrait of its founder, German immigrant Martin Keck, and a portrait of Heinrich Helmreich, Keck’s father-in-law and owner of the brewery that supplied Keck’s biergarden.
